Just thought I'd try it, so I put MPLAB in a machine and it runs fine. Basically just click on it and it runs fine. I'd sort of suspected it would run, since every other Windows executable I've tried has worked in the newer Linux machine I have. The system is running the SuSE 8.1 distribution, WINE (required for running Windows programs) installs by default. The file manager associates DOS and Windows executables with WINE, so it couldn't be easier. I built a little project and ran the simulator (no it doesn't run any faster, and no I didn't try "Speed.exe"). Cheerful regards, Bob -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
