As a checklist for inspection of schematics, I think I am looking for what some people may describe as 'drafting standards'.  (Such standards would not necessarily address the issue of whether the electrical design would work as intended.)

For example,
(1) What items should be in the title block?
(2) If not using IEC diagrams, are inputs on the left and outputs on the right?
(3) Is there an ABC,123 grid in the margins to help describe a location?
(4) Is the font's point size adequate if it is likely that the drawing will be reduced?
