Lawrence, www.ahha.com/index.htm was once recommended to me for machine retrofits by a local Tool and Die Maker. I don't have any personal experience with their products, but the Toolmaker uses their motors/controls on his milling machine. I have a friend who is a good mechanical engineer. As an EE, he can probably remember to turn off the bedroom light when he goes to sleep, but not much more. He wants to hook stepper motors to his milling machine, but isn't really competent to do more than wire up motors to a black box, and plug that black box into his computer. He says, after a net search, that this field is filled with information for people that already know how it works, but he has been unable to dredge up a "Guide to stepper motors on your milling machine for the complete idiot" type guide. Anybody done this? -- Lawrence Lile Des Bromilow Sent by: pic microcontroller discussion list 01/07/2003 05:39 PM Please respond to pic microcontroller discussion list To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU cc: Subject: Re: [OT]: Metalworking discussion list rec.crafts.metalworking newsgroup is VERY active, with lots of contributers (plus the usual "bozos") groups on yahoo worth talking to.... 7x10minilathe - very active mlprojects mwhints Hope that helps Des -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
