I'll take care to magnetron overheating. Using the owen without any load ( chicken, coffe etc ) inside, will cause standing waves which will heat excesively the magnetron. There would be no problems if the thermal protection is ok. One is on the magnetron and another two are mounted on the owen chamber, on top. The experiment is not very interesting on standard microvawe owen because the whole microvawe distribution is located in a quite large volume. Imagine your experiment in 10 cubic centimeter volume with the same 900W magnetron power ( a power inside the load between 0 and 900W depend of load permitivity ). I can tell you is much interesting ! http://www.geocities.com/vsurducan/electro/micro/micro.htm regards, Vasile On Tue, 7 Jan 2003, Benjamin Bromilow wrote: > Aha! > Well the match smokes alot when the door is closed... > Then when the microwave is turned on it hums really loudly and you get long > bolts of electricity shooting down the smoke trail from the magnetron to the > matchstick.....
