This may have been mentioned already, but the tip of a mechanical
    pencil might also work instead of a hypo needle - I thought of
    this while looking at the metal tip of my 0.9mm pencil.

Heh.  Also available in .7 and .5mm, with assorted extra-comfortable grips,
and in multiple colors, and so on.  And CHEAP.  That's brilliant!
