I've tried it with a citizen thermal ribbon printer and had lousy results as well. I think the transferred wax has a different compound on top than it does on the bottom --if I could find a way to get the print head elements hot enough to fuse to bare copper, I'd be golden. Alas, the toner transfer seems to be the only viable ticket for me so far (until Roman figures out the ink-jet route anyway ;') ). I've still got a couple of pen plotters that I retired when I couldn't get line coverage to work well enough --Although Olin mentioned an interesting capillary ink tip a few weeks ago that I haven't yet investigated... Most of my hobby stuff lately has been slow going and fairly large density anyway so toner isn't too much of a PITA. I need to get a shear to cut the fiberglass better --any home remedies for that? -Dal ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Harris" > the pictrography is a special type of dye sub printer, and I can get > beautiful transparencies - but as with most dye subs, it just isn't designed > for transfer ;) -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
