1206 is very easy to solder by hand. When you get down to 0608= or smaller it becomes a real pain to hand solder, I recommend= bigger SMT parts if you're making these by yourself. Even the= big SMT parts are still much smaller than their Thru-Hole= brothers. SO-8 and the other SO devices are pretty easy to solder as well= so you can't go wrong with those. Bigger the better IMO. Original Message ----------------------- Hello All, I am drawing a schematic in Eagle for my first smt board. After= looking through the myriad of available smt packages for= discrete components in the rcl library, the fundamental question= is: which component package is best for my application? Are= there any general guidelines for choosing packages? For= example, when using a smt resistor, which package is the most= common, the M1206?
