You could throw some Cat/5 cable in several rooms in case you want to network some day. Put a power wire to your doors in case you decide to put in an electric door strike sometime Put about twice as many outlets on twice as many circuits in your kitchen as the code requires I did this and don't regret it. Motion sensing lights on the exterior especially that porch you enter in the dark and fumble for your keys. I also am glad I did this Think about installing X-10 dedicated outlets in two places: your bedroom lights, (so you won't have to get out of bed to turn them off after you fall asleep reading) and all exterior lights (panic lights for when things go bump in the night). If the exterior lights are on, and the interior lights are off, you can see them but they can't see you. Think carefully about the placement of switches, so your path from the kitchen to the bedroom or the front door is also the path you have to walk to turn off the lights. Think about putting surge supression devices on the entire panelbox. -- Lawrence Lile Senior Project Engineer Toastmaster, Inc.
