Bill, I've used PICBasicPro and find it to be a very good tool. I'm not certain, but the licensing may prohibit the transfer of the software to another individual. Software licensing is a minefield of uncertainty. Ther is a PICBasic list...check this URL to subscribe....http://microengineeringlabs.com/resources/pblist.htm I recommend continuing to learn assembler using the MPLAB IDE available at...http://www.microchip.com/1010/pline/tools/index.htm and of course it's free. One of the biggest problems I see with beginners on the PIC BASIC list is their failure to understand the hardware. As I'm sure you're well aware you simply can't program in assembler without taking the time to understand the hardware. Best of luck, I hope this info helps.
