As the people just across the dateline from us are just starting yesterday as we start today, it's 24 hours after we start Christmas until they start. So it's two whole planetary revolutions before the day passes away entirely plus the one hour headstart we get. The last ringing of the welkin occurs a whole 49 hours after Christmas first dawns on our shores. If someone in Alaska would add some daylight losing (and why not, I ask) we could extend it out to an even 50 hours.
