Take a look at http://www.ccsinfo.com/versions.shtml, they're not daily, more in the order of weekly. I think it's the same for CCS. The 18 family is new, so most problems/fixes/enhancements are for that family. I'm currently working on a PIC16, about 40 minor versions back and have only encountered one compiler problem which was fairly easy to work around.
