They have prebuilt assemblies with the FTDI chip, AND eeprom already onboard. I got one of each recently, but haven't really used them yet. Only thing I've done so far is connect them (don't forget to provide power ... eithe= r external or connect to usb power or the won't get enumerated ... don't as= k how I know) and load the driver.
