I don't see anything here that suggests that the evil man is not attempting to bring down the sky and end life as we know it (and I'm off to see the king .... :-) ). And I'm sure that he (the evil man, not the king) doesn't KNOW whether he is or not, has a fair suspicion that he may be doing his unfair share of damage, and doesn't care at all if he is. It says that "El Nino" (stupid name for the phenomena) appears to have been present for millennia at least. It doesn't address, as far as I recall, the models that suggest that increased CO2 concentrations increase global temperatures (let alone the fact that we are producing a lot more CO2 than heretofore), the models (based on modern scientific knowledge) that suggest that certain chlorine products destroy high level ozone and the fact that decreases in high level ozone concentration cause increased UV irradiation of certain populaces, or the models that ..... let alone the facts that .... . Wise minds will, I think, file it away as more grist for the mill, tell the jury to stay out for now and sit back and continue to watch proceedings. But, I may be wrong :-). (In the mean time you could also try to grow an eternal tree or two and belch less.)(The vast majority of cows' Methane emissions comes from the "front" end.) When the seas freeze a few centuries from now (an interesting and by no means improbable outcome of global warming, should it occur) our descendants, should there be any, will curse us chapter and verse for our short-sighted self interest and rationalisation of the entirely obvious *. Russell "all models are wrong, some models are useful" McMahon * The path of reality viewed in hindsight, be it ever so obscure at the time, often appears entirely obvious. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics (like ads or off topics) for you.
