Tom, There is a cheap solution combining camera/pc card that you can watch with a camera a gate or a door or anything, then draw in the observed picture a rectangle and when someone enter to the marked area then alarm is activated on the pc speakers. furthermore, the software will record 24/7/365 each camera with time and date and many features. card: about 300$ up to 4 cameras include internet/modem/network control, and many functions... color ccd camera: about 70-100$ depend on the quality and the case. I'm interested in setting up a computer/pic based security system out side to hopfully track things moving through the yard. Can anyone point me to some cheap interesting sensor equipment that have a decent range and the ability to pinpoint the 'detection' rather than just provide and on/off indication? Cheers. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
