I don't own copies of the standards but, IIRC, the main changes in the spec have been adding connector/cable types, adding bauds and, changing from a recommended standard (RS) to an actual EIA/TIA standard. The standards are available from http://www.eia.org but they may be expensive. http://www.maxim.com used to have quite a bit of free information about the standards as they relate to their chips.
