Unfortunately, fine is relative :) With the ICD2, the serial speed is
limited to 19200. And programming the complete memory of an 16F877 on 56700
is already quite a lengthy process.

No, it's just that you cant use the USB interface below v6.xx.  Serial
works just fine.
