Hello! I'm currently working in Hidrogeological automation, developping Hardware & Software for monitoring, and I have a big problem that is driving me crazy for the last 2 months or so. I'm searching for any help, and if someone can just give a tip, I would be extremely gratefull. The problem is: I need to interface two devices, a water level meter and a PIC, using RS232. Both works fine when connected to a PC. But some level meters simply don't respond when connected to the microcontroler (i'm using a MAX232 to interface the voltage levels). I have two meters, and using a osciloscope, I did compare the output signals. In one of them, the signal is strong enough to can be read by the microcontroller. In another, it is pratically inexistent. But the same one works on PC serial! I don't can figure out what is the difference between the PC-serial and the MAX232, or something else that can be making this difference on the process. The serial connection is a simple one, using only the classical TX, RX and GND wires, without handshaking, low baudrate (9600). If someone just have this problem or knows how can I deals with it, contact me please.
