i implemented an ir receiver in a pic 16f628. i did this according to some rc5 code information, i found on the web. now i tried this out with remote controls from pioneer, sony, panasonic, united, jvc,...but none worked. checking the signal with an oszilloscope, i found it to be very different from what i expected. i thought that everybody uses some bi-phase coded rc5 code with 880us bit timing, but... ...what i found is some very slow 1-0 sequence, looking like some kind of synchronization, followed by an 1-0 sequence pattern, where some 1 pulses miss some times. does anybody have information on this code, most manufacturers seem to use? or does anybody have an idea on a simple way to build an universal receiver? thanks for your help! tino -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
