The FAA (the US civilian Aeronautics board) is planning on installing 'local' monitors that will verify the accuracy of GPS transmissions in an area (like an aerodome) and transmit this 'status' through some local means - they will take nothing for granted regarding position determination ... There are reports in some newsgroups/egroups of *wild* speed and location errors - usually temporary - but they can and seemingly do occur ... I have seen one instance of this myself - and now WISH I had logged the data stream issueing forth from the unit! So your question about 'errors' and are they constant - well, I guess the answer would have to be no ...
