does anyone have c code for an ir receiver?

i prefere c code over assembler, as this is more portable. i think i'm
gonna use a 16f628 or a 16f872 (eventually 16f84).

in the end, i want to decode ir signals, coming from an integrated ir
receiver with ttl output to generate pulses on the pic's i/o pins, to use
an old tv remote to control electronic toys.
