The main reason some Applications require IE5 is the New HTML help. I for one as an application developer use the old win help system. That way I don't require the user to have IE5. Any one who requires this limits their application. Microchip is very out of tune with what the PC world is doing. They proved this by not upgrading there dos apps for years. And now... who knows.
