Please let me know what temp sensor you are using.  I could not find
anything nice and linear to handle 500F, so I resorted to a thermistor and a
lookup table.  Had the PIC watch the first run in a learning mode, then tuck
away the temp and timing constants for future runs.  This got around the
non-linearity of the thermistor... seemed easier than doing the math or an
analog linearization (used to do them for a living... never again!).
