I downloaded the MPLAB 6.10 kit earlier today. When installing (or trying to), the install program bombs out saying that I'm lacking Internet Explorer V5. Well, yes I know that , I have a plain Win98 with the standard IE4. Now, the PC I'm installing MPLAB on don't have a Internet connection, so I thought that I'd download a kit on another PC and burn a CD. Now begins the fun... The kits for IE5 or IE6 on the Microsoft web site are all small "stubs", that expects to connect and download the rest of the kit dynamicaly when run. This stub has an option to *save* the downloaded files, but, AFAIK, this can't be done if not *installing* at the same time. Well, after fiddling with a modem and setting up a connection on the MPLAB PC, I'm now trying to get a IE5 from Microsoft. Note that the earlier MPLAB version installed just fine with IE4. Well, well...
