Talking about 16F PICs is really "doing newbies a disservice", in my opinion and for newbies only, of course. 18 pins 18F are coming. The 8-bit core must be the same in all the Microchip 8-bit controllers and in learning process as well. Can't see reasons why 18F shouldn't be cheaper then 12-16F. Best regards.
