For some weird reason, I have missed the beginning of this tread. They
will probably all turn up in a big clump in a few days. I was not aware
that it was communication, so yes of course it's critical.

I would have thought a ceramic resonator (good enough?) and a couple of
caps would be favourable to throwing away half your production though!
I know he says he's out of real estate, but where there's a will
there's always a way! :-)
