Safety regulations required that ALL tools used aboard ship be equipped with a 3-prong plug providing a solid ground connection to the case. Part of the safety inspection was to ohm out the connection from the case to the ground prong. No exceptions were permitted. New power cords with ground wires had to be added to all double-insulated tools (connecting, of course, to a screw in the *plastic* case). While the Navy eventually changed the regs, it was quite funny to see at the time. Regards, Bob -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
