Has anyone done any work with the LS7266R1? I'm interested in using it to track the position of two motors in a home-brew servo controller. The data sheet is a bit sparse. Specifically, I'm not quite sure what the Filter Clock does for me. My guess is that the filter clock performs a similar function to "polling" the phase inputs, but I can't back that up with paperwork. As I said, I find the data sheets kind of lacking. I'm not sure if using the filter clock is required, either. My guess based on the block diagram is that it is. However, according to the "Interface Examples", the filter clock is not connected as shown. Lastly, has anyone ran an 18F452 in PLL mode using an external clock input into OSC1? I know that this works in the HS mode, but the datasheet does not mention whether this approach is acceptable in PLL mode. Basically, I'm considering running the LS7266R1 with a 10 mHz clock, and then feeding that same clock to the 18F452 in PLL mode to run at 40 mhz.
