You didn't see the *third* prong  for the 'safety ground' (meant
to earth the external exposed metalic/conductive exterior of an
appliance) - but the systems were still of the 'grounded' design
(as our 'neutrals', of course, are grounded).

Isn't it funny - that the proliferation of so-called double-
insulated tools/appliances have now alleviated the need for
that third 'prong'?
