Hint: Instead of two serial diodes i often use a LED.  Higher comp cost, but=
 two less holes and solderings, and often it is nice to have a LED anyway ;)

I dont know a bout large production costs, but you can also argue there are=
 SMT devices with two serial diodes in it anyway... so LED is more expensive=
 if you do not leed the indication.

However, different LEDs have different Uf Red LEd is much lower Uf than=
 Green, so ypu have choices.  Also they are different in impedance.

Often a current variation of 50% is not very notable light difference if no=
 other LED is near. =20
