I've just installed MPLAB 5.70 on an old Windows 3.1 machine for testing purposes and I can't get it to assemble my source code. I installed MPLAB, Windows assembler, DOS assembler, Linker for Win 3.1 and ICD support (while leaving out ICE, ICD2, Promate, Picstat and Help). When I try to build my project (which builds fine on another machine with 5.70 under Win98se), the build process fails with a message that it cannot find a file named "MPASMWIN.ENU". After one such failure for each source file in my project, I get a runtime 216 error and the build terminates. I have googled for some indication as to just what a ".ENU" file is but I've found nothing particularly helpful. Also, when I try to build a node individually, I get a message indicating "Unable to spawn process. WinExec returned error code 8." (An un-install and re-install made no difference either.) Anybody got a clue as to what, if anything, I may be doing wrong in my install? Previous revs of MPLAB have worked on this machine but 5.70 doesn't seem to want to.=20 Thanks, Bob -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
