These are very usefull little chips.  They are currently the fullest
featured PIC with 18 pins.  There are supposed to be lots of projects on
the web using the 16F84.  The 16F628 is costs less and does more, so these
could apply to it also.

The most advanced project I have done with a 16F628 was using it as the
controller of a PIC programmer.  I think there are only two program memory
locations left unused.
