Hi. I've been looking over the PIC site and did a couple of Google searches, but I've turned up surprisingly little information. I'm working on a replacement driveway gate controller for my parents. The one they have is old and on the fritz. It uses a complex sequence of relays and limit switches to open and close a gate. I have developed a PIC 16F8xx-based controller for the motor, and I've updated the limit switches to hall-effect sensors, but I'm having trouble finding a straightforward RF control solution. I'd like to find an off-the shelf RF key fob transmitter that has one or two buttons on it. It should be keyed to the receiver, for security, and it should be inexpensive and available in small quantities. There should also be available an RF receiver solution that I can add to my PIC design. Ideally, it would have a couple of lines (or a serial interface) to the PIC that get asserted when one or the other button was pressed. I don't need tremendous range; a few hundred feet will do. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you. -- Rick -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
