Just yesterday I found an old VAX computer and an even older one under a
stair case here at the uni.

The LED display looks like something that came out of the "Seaview"
submarine in Voyage to The Bottom of the Sea.

Data recall rate is specified at 240mS and "ultra fast" recovery is
80mS.

The data was stored as an inertial pulse (or something) in a large coil
of wire.
