Check out the article in October 2002 issue of Nuts and Volts -- "Simple Interface Uses Common Tools". There also is free software available on the web site at www.nutsvolts.com To get your data into Excel. This is at http://emergingtech-llc.com/downloads.htmland is called InByte. That should help. (Which is VB code, not Excel). His web page says that he forgot to include a DLL. I haven't tried it yet, but if it's been fixed you should be able to get your real time data. OOPS. In reading the web page, it would seem that RS232 scope requires that your number be surrounded by a frame header: "TX" and "/T". You may also need to tie the handshaking line together on the serial port since the author of RS232 may not have disabled them in the 'open port' command. Typically you tie RTS to CTS and DTR to DSR & CD if you're only using a 3 wire interface. R ========================= http://www.electronic-engineering.ch/microchip/software/scope.html RS232 Scope V1.02 (Excel 97 Worksheet) 178 kb ScopeV102.zip Note: In the previous version I forgot to add one DLL file (because they have all more or less the same names). So it couldn't work at all. Sorry guys.
