I don't think any amount of slave labor explains how a device can sell for less than the sum of the component parts. This probably has a lot more to do with the difference between buying through second or third level distribution channels (several of which are in first world countries where people expect to get paid entirely too much for not doing much of anything), and driving your truck up to the factory and having them load it up with parts (which might be ones that didn't meet some random spec for there original market, anyway, but will work fine for a keychain light.)
