I have used the MCP2510 quite a lot, but I've only recently rejoined the
mailing list and haven't seen the rest of this thread.  If you can forward

I think it's time to get that dusty telephone out of the closet, plug it
back into the wall, and call up MCHIP's help line directly. You can at
least use the web to get the number off the website.   You'll get a
response pretty quick and can probably get to the hapless engineer who
wrote the erratta sheet directly and have him explain what he was thinking
(or smoking) when he wrote it.  .
