I ordered 0.01uF 250V Cer Caps for a telephone applicaton(CID & DTMF Decoding). (CMX602BP & M8870) The distubutor send me a 0.01uF X2 Type cap. What is the meaning of the X2? Is this just a high voltage cap? Will this X2 type cap also block the DC to keep the telephone "line on the hook"? A while ago I experiment with a phillips power line modem and the datasheet specify a .47uF X2 Type cap. I have implement this home automation chip with this X2 type cap and it works fine... -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
