I wanted to make sure everyone knew about the new bootloader from
Microchip which supports both 16and 18 series flash chips.

I found out through the newest circuitcellar contest.  I haven't gone
over it in detail, but it supports autobaud detection in the 18 series
chips, uses the uart, and appears to be pretty full featured.  It's all
in assembly, so no C compiler needed (as you might get with many of
their other app notes)

There's no MPLAB support, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it down the
line...  (Well, not *too* surprised... :-) )
