Mabey DS18S20s temperature sensors would work better. They provide a direct digital output with 1/2 degree C. accuracy. I've never tried using them in the same cable with other traffic but I've used them in noisy enviorments with no problems. I've had better luck running 5v to them rather than using parasitic power. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Micro Eng" To: Sent: Friday, August 30, 2002 8:27 AM Subject: [EE]:Dallas 1 wire for remote temp monitoring? > I've been asked by a neighbor (isn't it great when they find out your an > engineer)if.... > > Using his ethernet network, CAT5E runs, that goto everywhere in his house, > and since there is a unused pairs..... > > He wants to monitor the temps in the rooms of the house.
