I've been asked by a neighbor (isn't it great when they find out your an engineer)if.... Using his ethernet network, CAT5E runs, that goto everywhere in his house, and since there is a unused pairs..... He wants to monitor the temps in the rooms of the house. I figured using the Dallas one-wire system, and the 2N3906 type temp sensors. But...first off, wouild running this type network in the same cable as the ethernet be wise or have no effect on either. Second, each of the signals are home-runned, so there is a point where they all come in, but the lengths vary...from 30' to 100' maybe. comments? A better way to do this maybe? _________________________________________________________________ Join the world s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
