You're average punter isn't GST registered so to them it's a pretty good discount. To be totally honest with IRD I should not claim the GST. IOW, I pay the GST not the customer, which is how I've seen others do it. But I take your point - do they have Machiavellian view (ie doesn't matter how we get the money as long as we get it) or do they have a "no fudge factor" policy ?
