>We have a barrel type push button switch with LED inside ...... >they stick straight out and are meant to be soldered to >or have a spade type connector slide onto them. >What I want is a socket type connector so the switch >will plug into the PCB at a right angle and no soldering >or flying leads to connect, we are adding 8 switches ....... >Any ideas people? Look at using a card edge connector. Without knowing what your total production is, it may be worth checking the switch pin spacing, and check out a 0.1" or 0.15" or 0.156" spacing edge connector, and if your quantities are high enough, you should be able to get them assembled with just the pins you need. If you are looking at low quantities, then see if you can buy the kits which are sometimes sold for OEM development work and assemble the required contacts yourself. You may need to get on real good terms with a rep to source the kits. Doing this may put some restrictions on just where you place your switches, but see how the idea works. -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
