It is used to update systems based on 16F87x or 16F8x processors. It needs no external power or PC, can program ICSP in HVP and LVP modes, stores up to 2 HEX files and the target chip is left code protected afterwards if need be. A good example of it's use is some companies regularly send representatives across the country or even overseas to upgrade software on thier systems. They can now buy and preprogram a Fobbit, and send that overseas or where ever and instruct the customer how to upgrade, which is usually just connect and press a button. Tons of money saved. The Fobbit is then either returned or discarded. Imagine that - a disposable programmer :-) -- Best regards Tony mICros http://www.bubblesoftonline.com mailto:sales@bubblesoftonline.com -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
