"Ahh, unbelievers in the "render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's....." It's not so much a disagreement with this precept, but the method by which the tax is levied: income-tax versus the paying of import duties (by which the US funded much of it's operations in the early days) or a system of "use" taxes/fees. There have been proposals for a national "sales tax" here in the US as opposed to the "income" (NOT to be confised with a "wealth tax") based tax system presently in place.
