I've now removed...and reinstalled MPLAB, and still it won't behave itself.
In other words, when I bring it up..if the circuit isn't live it gives the
errors saying it cannot communicate with the ICD module. I kill the
windows...and then the ICD window won't come up, and I cannot edit the
project....if I assemble it, the normal window that shows up won't
display...just very strange.

I'm going to copy the project files to another machine that is working
correctly right now and see if there is anything at all in these that might
cause a problem, but I cannot see how it would.

Anything in the registry that might be affected?  Running windows ME, 256M,
athelon processor....it has been working fine up till last week sometime.
