Hi All, Being a Queenslander, I though you should know that there are still some very funky old laws in place here.. If I remember correctly: It is illegal to park your carriage (motor car is legally defined as a carriage) in the city without securing it to a hitching post (lest your horses wander around), now the last time I looked, there were precious few hitching posts available.. :) So, next time you see a parking officer, what out if you haven't tied up your car! :P Cheers, Ash. --- Ashley Roll Digital Nemesis Pty Ltd www.digitalnemesis.com Mobile: +61 (0)417 705 718 > -----Original Message----- > From: pic microcontroller discussion list > [mailto:PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU]On Behalf Of cdb > Sent: Tuesday, 20 August 2002 6:16 AM > To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU > Subject: [OT]:The World is safe > > > Last week the South Australian government discovered that WW2 ended > sixty odd years ago. > So they thought it about time to legally declare peace as it appears > that technically they were still at war! > > Strangely, here in Queensland, I didn't see the momentous occasion > noted, in fact I found it reported in a UK paper. > > Still if i recall, officially Sweden is still at war with Russia from > 1860 something. > > I wonder who the US is still at war with and don't know it,one of the > Confederate States perhaps? > > And yes just to be fair in the UK, I can tell you that technically it > is still illegal for women to wear makeup - During old Oliver > Crumpwells time women were forbidden to wear any adornment 'Lest it > turn the heads of the Kings men' , it may be in disuse but not > repealed! > > colin > -- > cdb, cdb@barnard.name on 31/03/2002 > > -- > http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList > mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu > > > -- http://www.piclist.com hint: To leave the PICList mailto:piclist-unsubscribe-request@mitvma.mit.edu
