It must be able to read program memory. In Microchip's line, that is
only a small number. 16F8** series, and some other expensive ones (18xx,
17Cxx), plus there is a lone member of the 16C family that has an add-on
barnacle to cover this problem (don't remember which one or ones).

This is from memory, it might be wrong, out of date, or incomplete,
I have no need to keep track of such things from day to day.
