Hi Scott, I usually will have MPLAB open and develop there. I goto tech tools to compile and debug. If you switch to MPLAB and make a change, tech tools software detects it and asks if you want to recompile and download to the emulator. I was just so use to MPLAB, that is the way I do it. There may be better emulators but being an individual funding it myself, this was a lot less money and is night and day compared to not using one. Since you have used one in the past, you know what I'm talking about. When I first started playing with PICs, it could take a week to debug a code module that now takes minutes with the emulator.
