There are a few former student pilots - as I was one. I wanted the taste of the left seat and got it through some flight instruction 20 plus years ago. It was a thrill - taking off from Addison field then heading south over I-635 (the loop around Dallas) - I still remember takeoffs when the "wheel" begins to become live (exhibit force from the control surfaces) as one headed down the runway. For weeks after that I felt I only had to pull back slightly on my car's steering wheel somewhere above 70 MPH to accomplish the same thing that the Cessna 150 did!
