The only real obstacle to doing this are legal issues. In theory once a person posts a message to the list they are essentially giving it up to the public domain, and removing any exclusive copyright they had on their message unless they prohibit (through email headers and other means) archiving of their messages. However, it could be legally argued that a non-technically savvy person didn't understand this principle and would challange the distributor of such a compilation after they've already started distribution, perhaps even incurring charges above and beyond legal fees and recall fees. Not to mention that it's being hosted graciously by MIT, and is well served already by three other online archives. I would suggest you put out an OT message asking if anyone has a semi or complete archive you can get by downloading. Alternately, research the list server commands (instead of subscribe piclist, type help). IIRC, the list server keeps an archive of a certian length and it may well be that you can get a large portion of the list from there. -Adam Dominic Stratten wrote: >Don't panic !!!!!!!!!!!
